History

The Mississippi Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, Inc., (MASFAA) was first formed by a small group of financial aid administrators on July 13 and 14, 1967, in Biloxi, Mississippi. Mr. Kenneth Wooten was elected the first president at that time, and Mr. Jack Woodward presented a proposed constitution and bylaws. Both presentations were approved, the convention expenses were paid, and $19.65 was turned over to the Secretary-Treasurer, Ms. Jeanette Marsh.

From that beginning, our organization has experienced tremendous growth and now includes several hundred members, working together to provide students with the financial resources to obtain their educational goals. In 2017, the 50th anniversary banquet was held during MASFAA's annual conference.
