Pages of Love, started by Hannah Roberts, Miss Mississippi 2015 and 1st alternate to Miss America, began in February 2005 with 2 goals: to provide children in hospitals and clinics with a distraction from their illness and to promote literacy. The organization accepts new or slightly used books and distributes them to hospitals and clinics across the south. As of January 2016, Pages of Love has donated 37,141 books! Join MASFAA as we collect books in the juvenile and young adult genres to meet the needs of teenage readers by offering them a good book which will allow their mind to travel through a story instead of focusing on their health issues at the time. Examples of popular books in those genres are Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, A Series of Unfortunate Events series, just to name a few. For other ideas check out the link to the Newbery Medal Awards provided by the American Library Association. Help Hannah continue her great work with Pages of Love by contributing books at annual conference. To see more of the organizationís good deeds, visit https://www.facebook.com/pagesoflove2005/.
